After a short tour of the vineyard, they sat us outside in the shade under the a wooden pergola. To the left of the benches were several fruit trees, which was a refreshing site to see! The wine tasting included a great wine selection along with a variety of cheese & salami. Prosciutto & bruschetta were my favorite delights! The cheese was served with their apricot jam, which was amazing! Apricot is one of the most popular fruits in Italy, so you can imagine how sweet and filling the jam was! Extra virgin olive oil and several other signature items were also on sale in the vineyard wine shop! I chose to purchase some delicious honey! In addition to the great food they offered, I got to taste their Bolgheri Rosato, Bolgheri Rosso, superiore, & white Vermentino! Since, Tenuta Di Vaira is located in the perfect location for cultivation, the wine is more than excellent! Most of the wine is labeled DOC, which is what makes the wine taste superb! What I enjoyed most about the wine tasting was that it was all outside. I was able to experience being next to one of the worlds greatest vineyards, enjoying a nice glass of wine. The vineyard is extremely beautiful, and they have really created a wonderful atmosphere for wine tasting! On my way out I stopped by a farm stand in the driveway of the vineyard to pick up some fresh apricots! Wine was boxed & shipped for those who wanted to purchase their favorites & take them home! If I were to visit Italy again, this would be the vineyard that I would return to! Saluti! Ciao! Love always, Mia.
